Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of heat shrink tool holder

The heat shrink shank adopts the technical principle of thermal expansion and contraction, and is heated by the induction technology of the shank heat shrink machine. Through high-energy and high-density induction heating, the tool can be changed in a few seconds. The cylindrical tool is inserted into the expansion hole of the heat shrink shank, and the shank has a large radial clamping force on the tool after cooling.

If the operation is correct, the clamping operation is reversible and can be repeated as many times as needed. The clamping force is higher than any traditional clamping technology.

Heat shrink shanks are also called: sintered shanks, heat expansion shanks, etc. Ultra-high precision processing can be achieved, the tool is fully clamped 360 degrees, and the accuracy and rigidity are improved.

According to the wall thickness, clamping tool length and interference, heat shrink shanks can be divided into three categories. Standard type: standard wall thickness shank, usually with a wall thickness of 4.5mm; reinforced type: wall thickness can reach 8.5mm; light type: wall thickness 3mm, thin-wall shank wall thickness 1.5mm.

Advantages of heat shrink shanks:

1. Quick loading and unloading. Through the heat shrink machine heating, the high power of 13KW can complete the installation and clamping of the tool within 5 seconds, and cooling only takes 30 seconds.

2. High precision. The tool installation part does not have the nuts, spring collets and other parts required by the spring collet, which is simple and effective, the cold shrink clamping strength is stable, the tool deflection is ≤3μ, reducing tool wear and ensuring high precision during high-speed processing.

3. Wide application. The ultra-thin tool tip and rich handle shape changes can be applied to high-speed high-precision processing and deep hole processing.

4. Long service life. Hot loading and unloading operation, the same tool handle will not change its accuracy even if it is loaded and unloaded more than 2,000 times, which is stable and reliable with a long service life.

Disadvantages of heat shrink tool handles:

1. You need to buy a heat shrink machine, which costs from thousands to tens of thousands.

2. After using it for thousands of times, the oxide layer will peel off and the accuracy will be slightly reduced.
